Naked transgender woman from YMCA club reveals identity
“I’m Christynne Lili Wrene Wood. I’m the scary transgender woman who that child misidentified as a man," Wood told the group according to a report from the Times of San Diego.

The Times of San Diego published a story where Wood was at the center after settling a discrimination allegation against the Crunch Fitness gym in El Cajon, California. As a result, Wood was allowed to use the women's locker room after a name change, sex marker change, and representation from law firm Nixon Peabody.
Wood was a frequent visitor to the YMCA club and attended the water aerobics class with her fellow "aqua sisters" and was fresh from a class during the encounter with teenager Rebecca Phillips. Wood never noticed Phillips and assured the Times of San Diego that no male genitalia could have been seen because Wood underwent gender confirmation surgery at the hand of celebrity surgeon Marci Bowers. Following the surgery, Wood took to Facebook to promote Bowers's practice. In the video, Wood also makes mention of a daughter.
In a comment following the protest, Wood compared her situation to that of Emmett Till, which represented "how that kind of a lie and hysteria can lead to tragedy." Till was a 14-year-old boy who was lynched after unsubstantiated allegations of sexual abuse were made against him.
“Thank God, I’ve got protection and people with me that see to it that I don’t suffer that kind of pain," Wood said. "But don’t you think that there aren’t people over there right now that would love to come over and rip me piece [by] piece?”
The YMCA allegedly told Phillips that it is looking into what changes can be made to ameliorate the experience of all its visitors.
